Pro can extend your safes in the background, so you do not have to remember it yourself. It also adds unlimited shared safes, your own extension periods, and one-off extensions. This guide explains how to set them up.
What Pro adds
- Unlimited shared safes. Free includes 2 shared safes.
- Automatic extension. Your safes stay closed without you opening the app.
- Your own extension period. Choose something other than 1 week or 1 month.
- One-off check-ins. Add your own number of days between the regular ones.
Turn on automatic extension
- Open Account › Automatic extension.
- Switch on New safes by default to use automatic extension for every safe you share from now on. Safes you already shared keep their own setting.
- Or switch on Every safe, always to include every safe you own, including safes made on another phone.
While Every safe, always is on, the default and the per-safe switches stay on and cannot be changed. Turn it off to get every remembered setting back.
Without an active Pro plan the switches are off and the screen shows a View Pro button instead.
Per safe
Each shared safe has its own Automatic extension switch in its extension settings. When Every safe, always is on, that switch reads On for every safe and cannot be changed on its own.
The iPhone widget
On iPhone, the automatic extension screen shows the card Add the SafelyShare widget with the text The widget gives SafelyShare more chances to run in the background. Tap Show me how for a short recording and instructions. Depending on your iOS version, you will see two or four steps, from holding the app icon to choosing a widget size.
iPhone decides when apps may run in the background. Adding the widget gives SafelyShare more chances to run. The widget also lets you extend one safe or choose Extend all safes without opening the app. It then shows which safes are done and which still need attention.
On Android
On Android, SafelyShare can extend your safes now and then while your subscription is active. It works from the list the app last saw, so open the app once after you change which safes it should extend.
Your own periods and one-off check-ins
- Your own default. Account › How often you extend offers Your own number of days · Pro, from 1 to 365.
- A different period per safe. The same choice appears while sharing, so one safe can run for 10 days and another for 200.
- A one-off extension. The extension screen for a shared safe lets you add any number of days to the date it would open.
Good to know
- Your phone decides when apps may work in the background, so keep your reminders on as a safety net.
- Only safes you own and that are still closed can be extended.
- Automatic extension stops when the subscription stops. You can always extend a safe yourself.
- Extending early from the app never costs you days. Automatic extension, the dashboard and the e-mail link set the date to today plus your period, or keep the later date.
