SafelyShare is in open beta. You can use the same account in three places: the iPhone app through TestFlight, the Android app through Google Play open testing, and the web dashboard on safelyshare.app. This guide covers all three, plus creating your account and confirming your e-mail address.
Before you begin
- One phone is enough to prepare safes. To try a complete transfer you need a second phone as well, because a safe is shared directly from one device to another.
- Beta builds can be reset before launch. Keep your own copies of anything important; never treat a beta safe as your only copy.
- Everything in the beta is free unless you deliberately choose a Pro plan.
iPhone: install through TestFlight
- Install Apple's TestFlight app from the App Store first.
- Open the beta page and choose Join the iOS beta on TestFlight. If the track is not ready yet, the button reads Coming soon. Check back later.
- Accept the SafelyShare invitation in TestFlight and tap Install.
- New beta versions arrive through TestFlight, not through the App Store.
Android: join the open testing track
- Open the beta page and choose Join the Android beta on Google Play.
- Confirm that you want to join the test on the Google Play listing.
- Install SafelyShare from that same listing. Updates then arrive like any other Play Store app.
Web: use the dashboard
The dashboard needs no installation. Open safelyshare.app in your browser and sign in. From there you can watch your timelocks, extend them, manage your plan, and change your account settings. Preparing and sharing a safe happens in the mobile app, because safe files never leave your device through our servers.
Create your account
- Open the app for the first time. The introduction explains the safe, the transfer, and the timelock in a few screens; you can use Skip at any point.
- The account step opens on the sign-up form. Fill in your full name, your e-mail address, and a password of at least 8 characters, then repeat the password.
- Tap Create account. You can also create the account on the web at the registration page and sign in on your phone afterwards.
Your name is used in one place only: it is shown to the other person when a direct transfer is confirmed.
Confirm your e-mail address
After registering, SafelyShare sends a verification link. Until you open it, the app shows the Verify your e-mail screen and the rest of the app stays closed.
- Open the link in the message we sent to your address. Any device works.
- Return to the app and tap I've verified my e-mail.
- No message? Use Resend e-mail. The button then shows Resend available in … min for a short time to prevent repeated messages. Check your spam folder while you wait.
Verification also matters later: you cannot buy or restore a subscription until your address is confirmed.
Good to know
- The same account works on iPhone, Android, and the web at the same time.
- Safe files are encrypted on your device and transferred straight to the other device. Our servers never receive them.
- Store builds can lag behind the web dashboard while a review is pending.
- Signed in on the wrong account? The verification screen has Not your account? so you can sign out.
